EndNote 2025.1 introduces a generative AI tool—EndNote Research Assistant—which supports users in “conversing” with full-text literature, transforming documents into an interactive AI-powered experience. Its key features include:

  • Review Key Takeaway: Automatically generates the main points of a single PDF article.

  • Chat with a document: Enables users to “converse” with full-text literature by asking questions in simple, easy-to-understand natural language and receiving relevant answers from AI.

  • Translate a PDF document: Translates the full text of an entire PDF document, reducing language barriers in understanding research literature.

  • Summarize selected text: Quickly summarizes the main points covered in selected text passages within a document.

  • Translate selected text: Translates selected text passages, helping reduce language barriers in understanding research literature.

In addition, to further enhance and improve the user experience, EndNote 2025 includes the following updates:

  • Cite from a PDF: Directly cite content from a PDF while writing and automatically generate the corresponding reference.

  • Integration with the Web of Science (WoS) database: Provides links to Related Records and Citing Articles in the WoS database, ensuring that researchers can access more comprehensive references.

  • Integration with the Cassyni database: Links conference videos with literature, guiding researchers directly to the core of reading, writing, and citing, and assisting them in retrieving, evaluating, and using literature.

  • Updated Summary interface design: Adds easy-to-read category classifications in the literature summary section, helping users quickly review important article details.

  • Updated Edit interface design: Makes it easier for researchers to find reference updates and full text for further use.

  • Find a Journal: Enter a title and an abstract of up to 100 words, and the system will suggest suitable journals for submission.
