Literature citation is an indispensable criterion for academic papers. Apart from showing that the report or thesis has a solid academic research foundation and enhancing the credibility of the content, it also helps to avoid accusations of plagiarism or academic misconduct. Moreover, it enables readers to have a better understanding of the relevant literature sources of the data.

1. In-Text Citation: Briefly note the bibliography when quoting someone else's statements in the main body of the article.
2. Footnote, Endnote: There are footnotes at the bottom of the page or endnotes at the end of individual chapters or the entire document. These serve to provide supplementary explanations and copyright annotations for the content in the text.
3. Bibliography/Reference: Bibliography styles are wide-ranging and vary on different academic subjects. The following are three commonly used bibliography styles―
Chicago: Applicable to most academic fields and non-academic publications
APA: Applicable to social sciences, psychology, education, and other related subjects
MLA: Applicable to literature, arts, and humanities
